Pandemic! 2020: Music to Quarantine By [track 2]

The reviews are in for track one!

I’ve heard from several of you with comments ranging from “fairly competent” to “interesting”.  I’ll take it!

On to track two…

You can dance! You can jive!  Having the quarantine of your life!

This was originally going to be a bluegrass interpretation, because I thought a banjo figure in the background would sound great.   Once I ran the rhythm part through grungy sounding amp settings, though, I kept that direction.  I’ll find another use for the banjo.

The lead part(s) are on my favorite cigar box guitar.  Three strings, tuned to open G, it has a great tone, and great sustain.  You can hold a note and go out to get a bite to eat and come back and its still ringing, know what I mean?

Even though this tune uses the dreaded E chord, which is nigh impossible to play on the ukulele, I muscled through it because it is otherwise such a fun chord pattern with unusual chords.  I love the Db7 at “you can jive”, and the Gbm that pops up throughout.
