Odds are you’ve never heard this song. It was a hit on the country charts for Del Reeves in 1965. Del Reeves sang songs about two things: looking at girls, and driving trucks. This combines both of those interests. If only there were a verse about getting drunk, it would be the perfect country song.
There were two challenges in this one: first was to learn the strange cadence of the vocal which is not necessarily in time with the rhythm of the instruments. Second was adjusting the amp & effects to try to capture that perfect Bakersfield twang on the lead guitar ukulele. Nailed it!
